The fans who got their hopes high on the alien-themed single-player DLC for Red Dead Redemption 2 will face a disappointment, as it was all a big fat rumor. A Reddit user accepted that he started the rumor. He said that this was the experiment he always wanted to do, to spread the rumor on gameplay culture. He made up stuff like, his friend works in an environmental group in Rockstar and he gave him some inside information.
“This was an experiment I have always wanted to do regarding the spreading of rumors in video game culture,” the user said. “I’ve been thinking about this for a while and wondering how I was going to do it, then I saw red dead online was basically being ignored(most likely not, but fans are in the dust about it, including me) so this was basically a good starting point for me.”
It was credible for fans to believe in the rumor as there were several sightings of aliens in Red Dead Redemption 2 where John Marston sights a lot of UFOs and side by side he also finds writings of cults who seem to worship alien. Rumored Red dead Redemption 2 DLC seemed an alluring idea to fans. Generally, Rockstar loves to have something related to aliens. For example, the most notable video game of all time Grand Theft Auto V where there was Mount Chiliad mystery. There were mysterious markings on the mountains and a very close encounter at the top of the mountain. Many were expecting aliens to show up in San Andreas.
People thought like Undead Nightmare, Red Dead Redemption will also perform great in alien-themed expansion. But, it was all a hoax. Those of you, who are not aware of Undead Nightmare, it is modified expansion of Red Dead Redemption, more specifically a zombie horror theme which includes an alternate timeline and where John Marston goes on a mission against zombies to save his family.
After the success of Grand theft online, Rockstar is focusing on creating more multiplayer mode.
